@Hung Giang: if you own a property and cannot pay your mortgage and if your bank accepts a short sale on your property, your debt will be forgiven and you don’t owe the bank anything, right? But you still have to file that forgiven debt as income and hence, INCOME TAX!

And FYI, I am NOT a VinFast employee. LOL. I am an owner of 2 VF8s, however. And as I said, call the IRS and ask them if your compensation from VinFast is taxable. Or just don’t include your 1099 in your income tax filing and try to argue with the IRS when they.. visit you!

It’s business! The EV sales market now is different from when we got our City Edition. The new deal doesn’t include the one-year free charging like what VF offered to Vinfirsts months AFTER delivery dates (so VF did try to sweeten our deals even after we got the car). It’s unfortunate for us Vinfirsts but I don’t think we can expect anything differently.

What I and some Vinfirst owners are doing is to lease a 2nd car with the new deal. This is good if you plan to keep the car after the 3-year lease. Even if you don’t need a second car at this time, the extra car’s payment will still make it cheaper to do it if you look at the total price of the new car since you will return the CE when the 2-year lease ends. Try to do some calculation and you will see that this solution makes sense since the CE lease payment is much higher than the SE and so is its residual value.

UPDATE: VinFast picked up my car on Monday, left me a loaner and returned my car on Thursday. The problem was found to be some food crumbs that got stuck in the gear shift buttons that caused some of the buttons to stick, hence intermittent gear shift issue. After cleaning, the problem went away. I still am VERY HAPPY with the services I have received from VinFast. And as always, there is always a call back from VF Customer Service to check on me several days later!

My car had some issues a couple days ago so instead of risking to be stuck somewhere, I am getting a rental until I can get the car serviced. I would prefer a loaner but it’s a Holliday weekend so VF Service Center is closed. I am sure I will be reimbursed for my rental. On the other policy, I agree with Gabriel that you should ask your Service Center contact to help you with that.

Guess we missed the latest VF model from the last car show? People are talking about VF3 but nobody knows about the VF Air that Natalie actually owns! Amazing!;-)

I have no choice but installing a dash cam in my car since we don’t know when or if VinFast would provide the sentry feature. The dashcam is truly needed as you want to record activities around your car even when it’s parked. It’s a way to deter the possible vandalism targeting your beloved VF car..

Thank you for your recommendation. I, too, think that having dash cam and sentry features is very important for VinFast car owners. Hope VinFast will be able to incorporate these features in future updates..
