SoCal folks – have you ever been reimbursed following after sales policy when you car got problem and needed to be taken to service centers?

It sounds like NorCal and Canafian folks got reimbursed pretty easily than what I heard for SoCal folks. I got some issues that still reoccurred after at least 2 visits to service center (1 time I drove there, other times they came to take the car), no reimbursement as they said it is not an inconvenient issue 😐

1 other time the car cant switch gear because 12v battery fault, my wife was late for school because of it. After getting out and locked the car for 5mins or so it worked again, 12v is at 60ish percent, they came to pick up the car also, but still no reimbursement.
It looks like the policy is at the discretion of a Service Center?

Benjamin, did you try reaching out to service center manager and ask for a detailed answer in writing and for the record why it didn’t qualify for “Special AfterSales Policy?

Not in writing, but I called the Service Advisor there, that’s when Ithey said” its not an inconvenient issue because I can still drive the car”

My car had some issues a couple days ago so instead of risking to be stuck somewhere, I am getting a rental until I can get the car serviced. I would prefer a loaner but it’s a Holliday weekend so VF Service Center is closed. I am sure I will be reimbursed for my rental. On the other policy, I agree with Gabriel that you should ask your Service Center contact to help you with that.

Not yet so far. I’m up in Norcal (Corte Madera.) We got a loaner VF8 while our car is at the Richmond service center.and it seems to work fine.

UPDATE: VinFast picked up my car on Monday, left me a loaner and returned my car on Thursday. The problem was found to be some food crumbs that got stuck in the gear shift buttons that caused some of the buttons to stick, hence intermittent gear shift issue. After cleaning, the problem went away. I still am VERY HAPPY with the services I have received from VinFast. And as always, there is always a call back from VF Customer Service to check on me several days later!

I do feel real bad for Vinfast customer service and tech employees that have helped me during my 50+ calls.

I got my first VF8 Echo in March, 2023. Troubles after troubles, so they switched me to another one in June/July.

On my 2nd VF8 Echo car, I was driving fine until a software upgrade. Long story short, it went down hill from there. The car cannot shutdown and I cannot even change gear to drive it. The service center folks came and took it to their service center. It has been there for at least 2-3 weeks now.

Vinfast management decide to buy back my car.

I love their people, but their cars are not ready for safe driving in USA.

I had to have my car fixed when the AC did not work. They kept it for a month. I was supposed to receive my goodwill compensation check. It was supposed to be from 6-8 weeks. It’s been almost 3 months and I haven’t received anything. I emailed and called. Have not heard back from them. What a SCAM!

I tried to post a new discussion topic regarding their reimbursement policy and it was never posted. I guess they also censor this discussion forum if you have any negative feedback. Anyway, if you are owed any money from them, you can file a small claims suit at your county court. For Los Angeles, it is anything amount below $12,500.

I’m also thinking about the same. I’m leasing and paying the agreed upon amount but not able to use all features. Filing complaint with small claims court will definitely help

When my VF8+ needed to go into the shop a few months ago, the service rep I spoke to over the phone said they would send me a check for being inconvenienced (or something along those lines).

I have yet to see any $
