I’m very interested in what Vinfast says at there keynote at CES. Hopefully somewhere in there they apologize for not delivering on there promised range and disappointing reservation holders. Also hope they announce firm dates for non CE cars or state that there delayed a year to develop better battery efficiency. They may just need to wait for the CATL batteries to be ready or maybe the overall design of the VF8 causes to much drag. There are a lot of major EV YouTube channels in Vegas if they do not like what they hear this could set Vinfast back alot. I believe channels like out of spec and Alex on Autos will ask some technical questions hopefully the Vinfast representatives will have answers. I think most of us here were attracted first by price but also the promise of a first class luxury vehicle. I hope Vinfast doesn’t let there ambition get in the way of a good vehicle. The secret to the US market Value, Customer Service but most importantly a car that just works. So if it’s not ready let us know now before they hit the streets because you won’t survive if sub par cars are sold.

Looks like they’re showing well at CES. Below is a link to the best VF9 walkthrough I’ve seen. It’s really impressive.

I actually got a chance to ask Craig Westbrook that during my sit down interview with him. He mainly answered that the VF8 full edition will be coming later this year.

As for the question related to the no battery lease option, he said that it was due to the banks that had trouble with approving those kind of deals. I have a full video that I will be uploading soon to go over my entire trip at CES.

what is your youtube channel name? Latest word is the ‘real’ VF8 will be around April; I read that as by summer….maybe.

I wonder if the bank problem is the one that vinfast might use as it would be logistically impossible to negotiate with all possible banks. They lose the battery subscription vinfast is sunk as their vehicles are priced way too high vs the competition.

The battery subscription never existed in the U.S. until VinFast came along. Things take time but with US Bank standing behind it, I am sure other banks will follow soon. The CE came too soon to have these negotiations with banks completed so no battery lease at this time though..

they will hype the speed from the last CES. they will say they met US demand and the promise that vehicles would be delivered by YE and kinda forget to mention it was the CE with lagging range (for the price). And really no US customer was in THAT much of a hurry to be the FIRST owner; that is totally made up.

City Edition. The first 999 to arrive in US are that trim. Think what was advertised on their web site and then subtract a bunch of range down to 179. Oh, and no battery lease option.

Number one question when does next batch ship and what trim?

No doubt about that. It should be the number one question.
