The results of testing the operating range of the VinFast VF 8 electric SUV were surprising

The VinFast VF 8 electric SUV has an actual range that is even greater than what the company announced, according to Car and Driver magazine.

Recently, Car and Driver magazine (USA) published the results of testing the actual operating range of many electric car models being sold in the US market.

This information comes out of urgency from concerns about range and charging infrastructure in the US. Electric car buyers are now very concerned about how far their car can go.

In 2023, Car and Driver ran 24 new electric vehicles through highway testing in real-world conditions. After doing it, one thing became clear: the EPA’s testing regime (the standard test for determining range for electric vehicles in the US) differs significantly from real life. It is worth noting that among the tested vehicles, the “made in Vietnam” SUV model VinFast VF 8 had positive results.

Specifically, VF 8 is one of six electric cars with actual operating range exceeding EPA estimates, while the remaining five come from German automakers. In fact, the VF 8 is the model with the largest difference in actual parameters compared to the EPA’s estimated range.
