3 Takeaways From Test-Driving the VinFast VF8

In another post, I gave initial reactions, but now that I’ve had some time to think it through, here are my top 3 takeaways.  I’m curious if anyone had the same or different reaction to mine: Smooth Ride – I couldn’t get over how smooth the ride was. I put a little stress on it, speeding up, slowing down, abrupt stops, and it took all my bad driving like a champ. Comfortability – I felt like the car was hugging me in a good way.  It not only cooled me down, but it also felt like I had a lot of support in general.  Plus, everything felt within reach with minimal effort.   Fun Drive – When I think of SUV, I generally thing slow and a bit clunky.  This car drives like a car but had the power of a real SUV. I took this car on sharp turns and constant stops, it felt light and sturdy all at the same time.   Do you agree?   Bạn cần đăng nhập để tương tác với nội dung này: Đăng nhập.

5 Initial Reactions from Test-Driving a VinFast EV

I had the amazing opportunity to drive the VF 8 in Vietnam back in September.  It was my first time getting behind the wheel of a VF 8.  Before I get into my initial reactions, I just wanted to say that before the test drive, it was extremely warm in Vietnam, and I was sweating bullets, so excuse the glistening look on my face given that I’ve been sweating all day.  Okay, on to my initial thoughts: Cooling seats – back to my point of being hot and sweaty during this test drive.  Usually when hot, you get that sticky leather seat feeling, but not with these cooling seats.  It cooled me down in a few seconds and it was able to get comfortable real fast and was able to focus on my drive. Touch Screen – we all know it’s 15.6 inches, but it’s hard to describe how crisp the screen is. It felt like I was driving in 4k, lol.  As I was playing around with the screen, before the drive, the biggest wow factor for me was now clean the interface was.  It was fun exploring all the little options within the display Head display –…

How Your Battery Can Help Generate Power During a Power Outage?

In the United States, everyone will experience at least two hours of a power outage during the year. While this is a considerably low number, a power outage can come in various ways: from standard maintenance to natural emergencies like storms and blizzards. It can be said that electricity is an essential part of our lives. It is the lifeblood for many of the activities that we do daily, and now, even our vehicles.  However, your electric vehicle is essentially a large battery on wheels. Thus, one surprising advantage of your EV battery is that you can have the ability to use it to power your home in case of emergencies. Even though your electric vehicle can be charged using your home’s power. The opposite can be done to power your home by using the energy left from your car’s battery. Or, simply, a generator as a backup power source.  EVs now have battery packs ranging from 40 to 65 kilowatt-hours. That means a fully charged battery from your electric vehicle can power your home for two to three days. Maybe even four days if your battery capacities reach beyond 65 kilowatt-hours.  Even though this is a relatively new concept,…

An Update on California’s Sale Ban on Gas-Powered Vehicles

In August, California regulators voted to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles from 2035 to tackle the rising threat of climate change. With California being the largest EV market in the world, it’s not difficult to see the state proceeding with an all-EV future a decade from now. Not only that, but the neighboring state of Nevada is also looking to follow suit by banning the sale of ICE vehicles starting in 2035.  The state is aiming that all vehicles sold from 2035 must not emit greenhouse gases. The state seeks to have 35% of new cars sold to the public be EVs by 2026, and they are rising by more than two-thirds by 2030 and an outright 100% five years later. However, residents in California will still be able to operate a gas-powered vehicle and buy used gas-powered cars after the ban in 2035. At the same time, some exemptions will be made by the state for selected gas-electric hybrid models that can still be sold in California. Bạn cần đăng nhập để tương tác với nội dung này: Đăng nhập.
