My experience installing the Level 2 VinFast Home Charger
When we pick up the VF8 Plus, VinFast gave us a Free Level 2 Home Charger and I bought the parts and installed it myself. It depends on what charger you buy. The Level 2 VinFast Home Charger is hardwired and it connects directly to the circuit breaker panel. There is no need for a NEMA 14-50 outlet. The home charger is capable of charging up to 48 amps or 11.5 kW. I went to Home Depot and bought a 60 amp breaker and a 6/3 WG Romex wire and installed in the circuit breaker panel. If the home charger is from a different company, and not hardwired, you have to buy the NEMA 14-50 receptacle outlet and only charges up to 40 amps or 9.6 kW. Initially, I bought the outlet and I did not know that VinFast gave us a home charger for free. I still have the NEMA 14-50 and if anyone wants it, I would be happy to give it to you. The charger is connect to the solar panel and saves me money. At my company, I paid $20/month to get unlimited charging access. The VinFast Level 2 Home Charger charges from 25% to 90% in about 6 hours. Additionally, VinFast gave me a promotion of a one year free charging subscription, for any participating charging station.

I also want to install it myself like you but I’m not very good with electricity. But thank you very much for these shares. Maybe I’ll ask my younger brother to help me 😂

I’m pretty sure I’m not as good with electricity as you are. Does anyone know how to contact someone who can assist with this?

You might need to change your circuit breaker to 60amp or 70amp to get higher kw.
