Charging solutions and mobile application integration for VinFast EV with Electrify America

Founded in late 2016 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Electrify America is a subsidiary of Volkswagen America. This is one of the companies that owns the largest fast charging towers in the US. VinFast and Electrify America announced an agreement to provide charging services for VinFast electric car models. 

In near future, customers who own VinFast’s VF 8 and VF 9 will enjoy the smart Plug & Charge feature to connect to Electrify America’s network of charging stations across the United States. This is a technology that allows vehicle drivers to pay for each charging session by plugging the charger into the electric vehicle, with just one completed installation on the VinFast app. 

Immediately after announcing the construction of an electric vehicle factory in the US, VinFast continued to announce a cooperation with Electrify America – one of the companies that owns the largest fast charging station in the US. With the same mission towards Zero-Emission Vehicles, the cooperation between the two parties will bring a complete driving experience to customers, contributing to accelerating the global electric vehicle revolution. 

Electrify America currently owns 800 electric vehicle charging stations and about 3,500 individual charging ports in operation and in the completion stage. Electrify America’s super-fast charging technology includes 150kW and 350kW chargers – the fastest charging speeds available today with charging times as low as 30 minutes. 

Electrify America also unveiled a design vision for future charging stations, along with customer-focused functions such as solar awnings and domes, customer waiting areas, and other services. at certain locations. The company also received the “Best-in-Test” award for 2 consecutive years in the categories of Best Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2020) and Best Digital Platform (2021). 

The modern network of charging stations provided by Electrify America will ensure a shortened charging time, providing a seamless and complete experience on every journey and daily life for VinFast customers.

On March 29, 2022, VinFast and the state of North Carolina signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of a factory with an investment of 2 billion USD in phase 1 in an industrial park in Chatham County, North Carolina. VinFast’s strategic steps with  activities going straight into the market show the serious and methodical investment of the Vietnamese electric car company.
