As long as the look and feel are not like leatherette (high grade nylon) it really doesn’t bother me. I think the BMW leather material is of the same.

The way I look at the negative reviews is that the VF8 is going through trials and errors as more and more ownership numbers going up. God willing, I hope the Vinfast engineering team would put the fixes in place before shipping the next batch of VF8 to US shores. I think the City Edition is a joke even with the perks and what not.
The other EVs also look attractive from a performance perspective but the price point is out of reach, at least for me, at the time I placed the reservation on the VF8. I mean keeping things in perspective, no EV goes without glitches here and there inclusive of Tesla.

I am in Vinfast simply because of the battery subscription as I didn’t see the value in outright purchase. If Vinfast starts meddling with the subscription, that’s the last straw for me.

Most buyers in Vietnam typically pay in full outright. Leases are not really a popular thing in Vietnam.

I’ve inquired about the ordering portal multiple times with Vinfast customer specialist but no solid answers given. From my recollection, it was supposedly up and running by end of Nov. timeframe. Obviously it is running way behind. Recent conversation with another specialist, I am told Vinfast intends to offer in-house financing option as well.
