  • What will the VF9 price be for VinFirst Pioneers with the battery?

The VF9 MSRP has fluctuated considerably over the last year. However, I remember a call from Vinfast assuring that VinFirst Pioneers will receive the price as quoted when they placed their reservation. That being said, when VinFirst Pioneers placed their orders, Vinfast was only offering a battery leasing program. Now that Vinfast is offering VF9s with the battery, what does the VinFirst price look like, and how does it compare with the MSRP being offered to later adopters?

    Follow-up questions:

    • What will the battery range look like when the first VF9s get delivered? Will they meet the goal ranges as advertised, or will there be a City Edition trim to start?
    • When will orders be fulfilled in the US?

Dear Mr. Aaron Saltzman, thank you for being a valued VinFast Pioneer! We appreciate your interest in our electric vehicles and are working hard to bring you the best possible experience. We are currently still developing our battery subscription plan, but we assure you that we will publicize all the relevant information on our various platforms as soon as it becomes available.
We understand your business is important and we appreciate your continued support. We are happy to inform you that the MSRP for our VF9 with the battery included starts at $83,000 for the Eco Trim and $91,000 for the Plus Trim. Please keep in mind VinFirst Pioneers will also receive an e-voucher of $5000 toward the MSRP and prices excluding additional options, taxes, and fees. Our advanced technologies have enabled us to offer an expected range of up to 369 miles for the Eco Trim and 360 miles for the Plus Trim, which we are confident will exceed your expectations.
As of now, we are on track with the configuration process of the VF9, which is expected to take place in the 2nd quarter of 2023. We hope this information is helpful and we look forward to having you as a satisfied VinFast customer. Once again, we thank you for your support.

What about the $7500 that most of us signed up on the binding agreement?

Dear Mr. Phong Vo, thank you for being a value community member. As promised for our early reservation holders, VinFast will honor it upon the purchase of VinFast vehicles for those that has signed the binding agreement and turned their reservations into non-refundable reservations.

Wow, now the price increased to $91,000? Basically you don’t want to sell it to middle class. Should have mentioned it on your website – “Not for an ordinary people” 🙂

Obviously not a day-to-day kind of a vehicle. It appears VF is pitching VF9 in the class of Model X, EQS, Polestar 3, XC90. The problem is Model X is now $90K which is $1K less and I hope it’s going to drop further because of decreasing demands.

When I called VinFast customer service couple months ago, I was told that vinfirst members can consider a 15-20k price on top of the price they were locked in, for the battery outright purchase.

I wanted the Plus trim with enhanced range, which was 61k. So I might be looking at 76-81k and the additional 5k and 7.5k which I will told will be honored.

So, the 91k price might not apply to vinfirst pioneers, if what I was told holds good.

I was told the same thing when I went to the auto show (it was also the same time I became highly disappointed In the 3rd row when I saw it was basically a bench on the floor).

At the original price I’d definitely consider it, at 20,000 off the “new” price i’d possibly consider it. If it’s only 5,000 off for vinfirst pioneers then i’m choosing the Volvo EX90 or perhaps Kia EV9.

I didn’t see it was mentioned in the moderator response so I raised the question.

Has the price almost doubled? I remember this car in the 40-50k range when I first signed up.

40-50K is on the VF8 variants with battery subscription. W/out it, it’s high 40 to mid 50K now.

Oooh. You’re right. The vf9 was 55k-61k depending on eco and plus trim

From https://insideevs.com/news/659578/vinfast-to-deliver-longer-range-vf8-to-us-followed-by-vf9/amp/https://insideevs.com/news/659578/vinfast-to-deliver-longer-range-vf8-to-us-followed-by-vf9/amp/ “A 92 kilowatt-hours battery is the only option available and provides a targeted estimated range of 272 miles (438 km) for the Eco trim and around 262 miles (423 km) for the Plus variant”. Range is disappointing for first deliveries. Anyone has a different info?

That’s it. It’s awfully subpar for 6 figure vehicle after tax and all.

With VinFast, there have been many changes, some positive and some negative. There have been too many secret changes and lack of transparency with VinFast. Initially, the VF9 Plus trim with 360 mile range was priced at 61K for VF pioneers under the subscription plan. Hiking the price to 91K, 30K more with battery inclusive is ridiculous. I’m hoping VinFast will review the pricing plan and make adjustments similar to what they did with a VF8. The VF8 was priced at 59K, battery inclusive but it was later re-priced at 49K battery inclusive. If VinFast does not price their vehicles competitively, they will price themselves out of the market. While I currently have a signed order agreement for a VF8 and hope Vinfast is successful, recent price cuts by Tesla are making me consider other options especially with rising auto loan rates.

Dear Gabriel Rodriguez, thank you for being a valued VinFast Pioneer! Thank you Gabriel for your feedback and I do apologize for any discrepancies in the price difference. At this time, our battery subscription plan is currently under development and currently not available. Once the subscription plan is completed, we will make sure to notify our clients. As for the price, the starting price for the VF9, with the battery, is currently $83,000 (prices are subject to change).
