For now, Tesla model Y is around $55k, and model 3 is $44k. Vinfast model VF8 is surpassed on pricing compare to Tesla at $59k , it might need to re-price for competition. According to Vinfast statement:”As a new brand entering the market, when other brands reduce their prices we have to come up with promotions to ensure VinFast’s competitiveness.”.

I will look forward to see what Vinfast will do, I hope a reduce price of 20% – 15 % will do

You guy need to clearly communicate your program to your customers. If the City Edition is for lease only, then stop giving MSRP on this model. We want to know the deal on the sale edition of VF8 and VF9 (ECO and PLUS). Other manufactures are dropping their price to stay in the game with Tesla.

Thanks Hieu, hoping Vinfast will respond with updated pricing for each one listed in your post.

I placed my order with Tesla for a model Y Long Range with a tow hitch for $53,990. I have 2 reservations, one VF8 and one VF9. I am waiting on VinFast to counteroffer, and I am willing to drop my Model Y order if the offer makes sense.

Vinfast has posted new pricing on VF8 City Edition. Does anyone remember the price on VF8 Plus going back to April-May 2022 time frame?

I just got an email. As a Vinfirst I can lease the city edition for $429 month AFTER $5,000 capital cost reduction for 36 months. That makes it effectively $567/month. Still too much for a 200 mile range 5 seater. If that offer comes for the VF9 I’d consider it as we need 7 seats, otherwise Vinfast still has more room to go price wise.

Prices drop on leasing VF8 now. $519 (ECO) $599 (PLUS) and 36 months instead of 24. Any takers?

I contacted Vinfast again yesterday after seeing @Robert Herman post and asked what was going on with the battery subscription. The gal (assumed she’s one of the CEE) once again indicated to me that the battery subscription is still on the table only for VF8 model and not VF9. Someone is welcomed to verify this info.

I contacted them today via chat and per the person for VF8, “we are still finalizing some sales plans regarding the batter subscription, it will be available exclusively for VinFirst Pioneer for just $110/Month!

Also, checked for the VF9, “For the VF 9 it will be $160/month and that’s also exclusively for VinFirst Pioneer only!”

I think I’m on the verse of ditching Vinfast if there is no new about pricing. I’m the first 3k of reserver but Tesla temptation is so high. A look over Highlander Hybrid, Lexus RX350H and Rav4 Prime, I found they are also good contenders for me to drop VF8 plus. Darn it, I was hoping Vinfast can make it through this market. Maybe in another 7 yrs, once I’m done with ICE/Hybrid car

I know right… Made the reservation early August with the assumption of the subs model – I think it was around 55k.

Vinfast is really losing it unfortunately. Was cheering for them big time but the latest message from them has been very sobering.

    And the price quoted was

We no longer offer battery subscription, (we plan to offer battery subscription in the future-TBD) so the numbers I am going to give you are just for the VF9 ECO and PLUS trim with the pricing of the battery (STANDARD BATTERY ONLY) that will be included with the total sale price.

    VF9 ECO = $74,000
    -VF9 PLUS= $79,500

When did you make the reservation?

That price doesn’t look right unless Vinfast is living in wonderland.

they certainly have backed away from the subscription model. That was pretty much the only reason I ordered one (now canceled). Plus, you know, being on the ground level of something new. Oh well. My Tesla YLR was delivered last night, so I’m happy.

Vinfast made a whopping mistake with the City Edition, not communicating well (as they promised). Tesla price reduction was a shot across the bow of all the EV startups. It certainly got me to place an order.
