A Look at Pininfarina, The Italian Designers Behind VinFast

VinFast is proud to have partnered with the world-famous Pininfarina design firm on for its flagship premium EV SUVs, the VF 8 and VF 9.  Founded in 1930 as a coachbuilder, the company known as “Farina” at the time (named after the founder Battista “Pinin” Farina) was the first coachbuilder to construct bodies using the unibody construction technique.  The company was officially renamed Pininfarina in the 1960s and its budding emphasis on the science of automotive design helped it to stand out from other Italian coachbuilders, with even the construction of a full-sized wind tunnel green lit and finished in 1972. It was the first wind tunnel with the ability to test full-sized cars in Italy and one of the first in the world with the capability.  Currently with headquarters based in Turin, Italy, Pininfarina has designed a wide variety of automotive vehicles along with high-speed trains, buses, trams, yachts, and planes, and provides consultation on architecture and industrial/interior/graphic design.  Pinfarina took into account the proud heritage of the VF 8 and VF 9 through incorporation of the unique “V” logo in the grille that references the country of Vietnam along with the VinFast and Vingroup brand.  The partnership with…
