Negative, they should allow the purchase to the Vin pioneers with the promised price, battery subscription, and when materials become more readily available replace with higher KW battery free of charge. This I might have considered if I was able to retrieve new battery by summer. This would allow VF8s to be on the street and that alone will market the Vinfast brand seeing vehicles on the street.

Im hoping they keep honored price as well, 47,700, for early reservations. With the $110 for battery subscription. Then I’m still in. Just saw Tesla model Y is offering $7500 EV tax credit for deliveries before March 2023

I do like his reviews, I can honestly say I have learned a lot about Evs from his reviews. He did say he had low expectations from the beginning so he was prepared to dig in. He said he was driving the 87kw battery Vinfast and it showed a range of 268 miles on 98% charge. Promising seeing that these test drive vehicles get driven constantly and hard. The “City Edition” has the smaller battery pack. Also no trajectory on reverse camera, as well as NO ADAS. I believe he is driving a pre production unit. Some tweaks to software can improve the Torque and acceleration and UI. It runs Android. I’m with him on those door handles as well. I remember how i use to talk about Tesla and i got the same reaction “what are you talking about? An electric car, no way is it going to compete with major players in the car industry” My test drive I heard no rattling and the seats were very comfortable for me.

Same on pricing. I was told by multiple Vin employees price is locked, as well as battery subscription.

I was told by a client advisor who called me no battery upgrade. Only option was to do a 2 year lease on the vehicle with inclusive battery. No option for a upgrade, or subscription on the battery.

I had a Vinfast rep call to gain feedback on the test drive. Then went into the lease option for the City Edition. I said no thank you. I asked what battery capacity is the city edition, she said it was the 87.7kw, i asked if that’s the case is the extended range VF8 plus going to have a 120+kw battery? She said I’m sorry the city edition has the smaller pack. The extended range battery will be out by end of 1st quarter. Along with price lock of purchase and subscription included. Will wait and see. I do want the vehicle and want to support the company. So I’m hoping for the best.

If this is the case Vinfast vehicles are only getting 2.1 mpkw range? Or is there a software update that we may need to boost range? I would’ve felt more comfortable if the city edition had a 65 KW battery. Thus making it 180 mile epa

I heard somewhere along the lines it could take up to 40 days. Based on the website above they are very close. Same as Scott would’ve been excited if it wasn’t the “City Edition “

I remember when I was in the market for the Ioniq 5 (Didn’t end up getting it) I would have flown clear across the country and drive back to California. Maybe something on previous reply would be a good idea. Pick up in CA and drive back home.

I’ve heard the same stories with other EVs as well, they keep a jump start kit just in case. Hopefully an update on their BMS software fixes the issue. I’ll take it over 2,000+ moving parts in a drive train for an ICE vehicle vs 20 moving parts in an EV.
