To VF Moderator,
With the scheduled shipment of the next batch on April 4th, will these vehicles be dedicated for orders in California only or outside of California as well?

I understand the next batch of VF8 with standard batteries are shipping in April. Hoping a Vinfast moderator can share more info on this first shipment. Will this shipment be for Vinfast Pioneers? If so, when will Vinfast Pioneers be able to place an actual order with personalized options like paint and seat color? How many VF8’s are expected on this shipment. By what month do you expect all pioneers to receive their cars? Hoping a Vinfast Rep can share as much info as possible to the community.

Thank you for being a valued VinFast Pioneer! We are pleased to inform you that the next batch of VF8 Enhanced Range is expected to ship in April. We will do our best to provide you with as much information as possible.
Regarding your question about whether this shipment will be for VinFast Pioneers, we can confirm that the shipment will be for VinFirst Pioneers. We understand your eagerness to order your vehicle with personalized options like paint and seat color, and we appreciate your patience. The configuration process will be available at the beginning of Q2 of 2023 after the homologation process.
We expect the next shipment to be around 1,000
vehicles, similar to the last shipment. As for the exact timeline for when the
Pioneers will receive their vehicles, we do not have an exact date yet. However,

I assume it would take 1 1/2 -2 months to receive car after configuring the car with color and seat options. Based on the transit time of the first shipment, it will take about 5 weeks after getting loaded on the cargo ship in Vietnam and arriving in CA. Can you share how many VinFirst Pioneers reserved or signed an Order Agreement before the IRA Act was signed? Just wondering if all would receive their cars on the first shipment of around 1,000. I understand at this point, not all Pioneers will place an order. I know some have decided to purchase from another EV manufacturer.
Lastly, will ordering a 21″ tire on the VF8 Plus cause any delays in placing order in early Q2 of 2023?

Any updates on this? I’ve seen people from Vietnam have circulated around some photos of batch #2. Can VF confirm?

I am anxious to move forward. I have not heard anything about ordering my car and I am a Pioneer but out of state. More than willing to pick up in Ca. Please, more info. More is better!!

Can VF Moderator clarify the last thread. “We are estimating to start the ordering process for the 2nd batch of VF8’s this quarter (2nd quarter). There will be an email correspondence sent to our clients so that you may prepare to place your order” My understanding is that Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy has said the 2nd shipment would be shipping in April. I don’t understand how a VF Pioneer could configure their VF8, have it manufactured in Vietnam and shipped on the next batch in April, it’s already April 14th. Is Vinfast shipping out a random lot of cars in the hope it would satisfy what the Pioneers are expecting or wanting. What was the purpose of reserving and later signing a order agreement like myself when VF8’s on the next batch may be offered to non-pioneers if they aren’t configured with the color, interior or larger tires offered on the plus trim which is what I want. I don’t mean to be a pain but frustrated like so many other pioneers. Vinfast already made the first mistake of shipping unwanted “City Editions” with a short range. Vinfast should be calling Pioneers about ordering and following up with emails. My VF emails end up in my junk mailbox. Hope to get some clarification for me and other pioneers.

Hi Gabriel, this is a great question and a very valid concern. We appreciate your contribution to the community forum. It appears you have some specific questions related to your reservation. We have a Virtual Client Advisor reaching out to you to answer questions related to your reservation and future order. Hopefully, you’ve already connected by now. Additionally, we will attempt to answer your questions & concerns in a broader manner that will hopefully help other members of the community.
- You are correct, initially, our plan was a ‘build to order’ strategy, meaning you make your color and trim selections and we build the car and ship it over. However, we have made an organizational change and shifted to a ‘matching’ strategy. Meaning, you make your color and trim selections and we will match them with available cars. While we can’t guarantee an exact match for all reservation holders with this system, so far we have had very few issues matching customers with their desired selections. This decision was made partially because VinFast EVs are so nicely packaged and most everything is included. There are very few choices to make or options to add. This allows us to move faster and bring our EVs to you with less delay. Additionally, we are prioritizing our earliest reservation holders such as yourself, to ensure you have the first choice in color and trim selections.
- We apologize our email communication is ending up in your junk mail, we are aware of this problem and working on multiple solutions to ensure our communications reach our customers. Thank you for letting us know we still have work to do.

First of all, THANK YOU for the detailed response. It clears up a lot of confusion.
I have not heard from a client advisor yet but looking forward to receiving a call. Can you clarify how options such as tow hitch or 21″ tires on plus trim would be handled? Would this be available as an add-on with the VF8 shipment that just left Vietnam?

Hi Gabriel, at this time the tow hitch accessories and 21′ inch tires are not available for purchase and will be released at a later date. Once they are available for purchase we will notify our clients, thank you for your patience and understanding.
