I heard from some initial reviewer who test drived the vehicle saying that VF8 acceleration performance depends on its current battery charge level. Is that is true.

Never heard that any current EV vehicle do that. Want to know if that is an absurd statement. It doesn’t make any sense.

I think I only a very few care about 0-60 times.

In fact battery level does slightly matter for 0-60 times. You will not notice on driving around or even punching it from a green light. But if you were to drag race another EV that is exactly the same make model and trim you would find that the full battery EV will edge out the 1/2 full battery. Same with temperature. If you just fast charged to get to juice then your battery will be warmer. And therefore be slightly less robust. Like I say this is not noticeable tooling around town. Just on a track and getting times.

I just want a vehicle that is not a gutless wonder. If I’m going 30mph and hit it, I want it to go…..

This will be for my wife and will be great. We love her VW atlas. But the 0-60 in that is like 9 seconds. Our other vehicle is R1T. So a VF9s acceleration will slide right between them and will be just perfect.

I’m pretty sure this was born on reddit. Very sure it is total horse poo. My test drive the battery wasn’t at 80% and the drive was wild. The prof driver really drove the course. Me, not being familiar took it a bit easier. Full throttle (in the rain) was quite pleasant.

I”m hearing there will be another test drive event closer to me and I’ll go again and this time really pay attn to the battery level……

I didn’t pay much attention to the battery level when I test-drove it myself in Long Beach, but the acceleration was great imo, not as powerful as a tesla performance trim, but as powerful as how an EV is supposed to be. As soon as I hit the floor, the car front lifted off and my body is pushed to the seat.

Those test-drive tracks are very short. Not sure if you even reached 60mph at any point. I booked for vf9. Want to make sure it is really good and don’t regret my decision since it is huge amount on a car that has no brand name yet.
