CE edition delivery delayed
It looks like the CE cars will be delivered in the second half of February after a software update. This update likely includes the increased range and Android Auto/Car play. I also hope this includes a fix to the 12v vampire drain. I’m glad they are delaying before letting cars out on the street. I recently corresponded with a sales rep and he stated that owners of a CE will likely be able to swap out their battery for a longer range one for a cost (of course) but he would need to confirm with corporate. I would likely consider a CE at current prices if that was the case. https://electrek.co/2023/02/03/vinfast-delays-first-us-ev-deliveries-to-late-feb/

Although I wouldn’t consider a CE car due to the low range or having to buy the battery outright, I don’t understand the delays. I agree delaying the cars is a good idea to correct any issues but why were they sent from Vietnam in November if they weren’t ready and if only a software upgrade is the only thing needed, why is it taking so long. I thought upgrades were done OTA. Would someone from Vinfast care to comment so we have a better understanding of the issues.

Have you heard any feedbacks from Vinfast?

Not yet but I am concerned about Vinfast not being transparent with Vinfast Pioneers or the public. Initially, I thought communication was going to be a big part of Vinfast but so far talk has been cheap. I haven’t completely ruled out purchasing one but quickly losing hope. I’m wondering now if Vinfast is delaying delivery until some service centers are up and running. With only mobile service available, where would the take cars if services needed to be done in-house? I welcome Vinfast to chime in and clarify my concerns noted in this chat.
