Battery Subscription Gone?
So I was just browsing the Vinfast website and it appears all mention of the battery Subscription has been scrubbed. There was a category in the hamburger drop down as of 8:30 pat it’s not there. Vinfast may have given up on the subscription model.
I don’t think many of us would consider now with the current battery inclusive pricing might as well buy from established brands as there is nothing to differentiate a Vinfast from other morden EVs except for the current CE range which is not a positive.
If the subscription model is gone it may be for only new reservation holders. Let’s hope thast the case.

Battery subscription page is completely removed from Vinfastauto.us website. Is this battery subscription now officially dead? If so, I think Vinfast needs issue an announcement of such discontinuation so Vinfirst reservation holders who might have continued to believe that it is still an option.

Hi Phong Vo! Thank you for being a VinFirst Pioneer! At this time our battery subscription plan is currently under development. Once the subscription plan is complete we will make sure to send out an email correspondence to our clients. We apologize for removing the battery subscription page and I will make sure to send your feedback to our management department.

Just got this from Vinfast – I think many of us are in for a big surprise….
And the price he gave me was:
We no longer offer battery subscription, (we plan to offer battery subscription in the future-TBD) so the numbers I am going to give you are just for the VF9 ECO and PLUS trim with the pricing of the battery (STANDARD BATTERY ONLY) that will be included with the total sale price.
VF9 ECO = $74,000
VF9 PLUS= $79,500Bạn cần đăng nhập để tương tác với nội dung này: Đăng nhập.

This is completely contrary to what Vinfast has been reaffirming early adopters that they will honor the battery subscription for reservation holders.

At the moment, VinFast is still honoring this so don’t lose hope. Further negotiations with the banks are needed to make this possible!

100% agree. The battery subscription was a key product differentiator. Would urge Vinfast’s product team to not get scared away by auto bloggers and stick to their guns. EV’s are entering a different market phase than when Tesla first went to market, and the consumer segments considering EV ownership look different than 5 years ago.

The battery subscription was one of the reasons I put my deposit down on this vehicle. Now I did not enter into a non-refundable deposit signing but I have heard from our Rep in Southern California that the Battery subscription will still happen they are still working on the legal liability aspects of it with the Banks and Insurance companies as this is all new territory for everyone.

Hello Shawn, thank you for being a Community Member! While the battery subscription has been removed from the FAQ you may still find it at the bottom center of the main site page. Our battery subscription option is under development at this time. As always you may reach us at our website or call in at 1-833-VINTALK

I checked their website today (the U.S site) and now they have the battery subscription link at the bottom of the page. Also, that url is https://vinfastauto.us/battery-subscription
I agree that because of this subscription I am into Vinfast. If they change the price of subscription for Vinfirst users (which they promised they won’t) I am out as well.

and this blurb from that link:
Policy: The VinFast Battery Subscription Program has delayed
availability. At this time all vehicles are sold or leased inclusive of
battery.Interesting. That’s how they explain City Edition not having the subscription option? Well, I hope for the next batch due by March they get it together and work the kinks out. NO subscription, no purchase from me.

I am in Vinfast simply because of the battery subscription as I didn’t see the value in outright purchase. If Vinfast starts meddling with the subscription, that’s the last straw for me.

While this is an option for lower initial acquisition cost. But you will have issue with financing and reselling. Bank does not like to hold a partial lien on the car. If the buyer doesn’t pay, then the bank will take ownership of the car and sell it at auction. They cannot do that if VinFast has ownership of the battery pack. Also, you will have issue with Insurance and VinFast in case of a total loss. This battery subscription program sounds good for saving money upfront but will have major headaches in reality. The initial hoopla is over and VinFast should come down to reality to sell EV cars like everyone else. Compete on price and quality. Take a decrease compound loss in the first 5 years to gain market share.

I had a Vinfast rep call to gain feedback on the test drive. Then went into the lease option for the City Edition. I said no thank you. I asked what battery capacity is the city edition, she said it was the 87.7kw, i asked if that’s the case is the extended range VF8 plus going to have a 120+kw battery? She said I’m sorry the city edition has the smaller pack. The extended range battery will be out by end of 1st quarter. Along with price lock of purchase and subscription included. Will wait and see. I do want the vehicle and want to support the company. So I’m hoping for the best.

oh boy. they scrubbed some more very recently. It was still in the drop down menu and in the FAQs. Now gone from those areas. Yikes. They kill the battery subscription for everybody, I’m out.
Decided to try the ‘instant chat’ feature and got this:
Brandon (12/22/2022, 3:54:39 PM): Hello! Welcome to VinFast instant chat. My name is Brandon, how may I help you?
Scott (12/22/2022, 3:55:01 PM): has the battery lease option been removed? it’s been scrubbed from the website.
Brandon (12/22/2022, 3:56:19 PM): Hi Scott, I know that the battery leasing option has not been removed completely
Brandon (12/22/2022, 3:56:46 PM): the reason we took it down because we are still under operation to get that option going, and we will get it back on when it is ready
Scott (12/22/2022, 3:57:03 PM): ah, ok. was a bit worried.
Brandon (12/22/2022, 3:58:19 PM): I understand sir, at this time from what I know, there has not been any notification about removing that option. We are still finalizing our sale plan for that at the moment
Brandon (12/22/2022, 3:58:39 PM): If there are any changes, we will definitely send out a press release- This reply was modified 1 year, 12 months ago by SHale.
