Blinker / indicator inconsistencies

The car has been working great lately (except for rough back seat ride), but it would be really nice if the indicators worked consistently. Sometimes a soft press gets you the 3 second blinker, sometimes nothing, sometimes the permanent “on”. Lately it’s just when i use the “left” signal (down), but occasionally the “right” / up, has been inconsistent.

 

Anyone else, or do you have some trick that works consistently for you?
