Battery Charging and vehicle error messages
Just want to say… we were excited about these VF8 when we got them.
We have 2 VF8, they have been having a lot of issues with Charging and vehicle error messages.
My husband’s VF8 not even able to use EA for the last over 2 months, error message “something went wrong, can’t charge now”, so he has to switch to EVgo, which is slower charge, it was okay at first, now hardly ever work using VinFast App. It is frustrating and upsetting. I feel bad to have to call customer support all the time and try to request for reimbursement.
His car also has quite a few issues and had been in and out of the service center, another appt. set for next week.
My VF8 is better than his, charging issue & error messages at the beginning, but it’s better now after the last upgrade service a few weeks ago. But Charging issues come and gone…? Now, this morning I can’t charge with VinFast App at EA & EVgo ??? I spent a couple of hours fooling around (including driving) with that and finally I told Customer Support I am going to use my CC and they need to reimburse me (but they don’t guarantee my reimbursement)
Another frustration day… may have more coming ? good luck to other drivers…

Why would they need to reimburse you if you are charging at a level 3 location? FYI, I also have 2, 2024 vf8 plus’s and have zero issues with charging at home or at thrid party locations, like evgo, ea, etc!

You need to contact your service center and request the May 1st 2025 firmware update – 8.3.10.11 – That will address your charging issue! Also you will get new features – including charging scheduling – auto hold (no more rolling backwards or front wards) and a few others – I have had it installed since May 3rd, love it!

I had my car less than a week, when I tried charging at Chargepoint station lv2 charger it took 3hrs 55 minutes to charge from 17% to 26% which is very bad and have to pay hourly charge rate.
I also tried at my friends home with j1772 lv2 charger and does the same. It says 22 hrs to fully charge from 22%

If you have tried two completly different chargers – you should book an appoitment at your local service center – I charge at home every night – on a level 2 50 amp charger – I get 11.5kw everytime.

my vehicle still get “free charging”, but only for Electrify America, not others. This morning VinFast App (after App update which requested when open the App) is not showing EA charging stations anymore??? Another inconvenience…
