OK – so a number of member posts related to selling their early reservations. Some suggested (on this and other sites) that they could be worth $15,000. Some say “give me $1,500, and I’ll transfer I a minute”. Realistically, with the early pre-hike price lock-in and the other perks, they are worth more than $1,500 – and as demand increases towards year end, could start inching toward a $7,000-$10,000 mark, or more.

So – I’m wondering whether it makes sense to build an online marketplace for people with reservations to post them for sale – this could maintain the higher pricing, promote more online visibility, and serve the entire Pioneer community to the benefit of would-be buyers who don’t have an early reservation.

Vinfast told me some time ago that they were building a secondary marketplace, but that hasn’t happened. I have SIX reservations I’m selling – and if another 100 or 300 sellers come together, we could have a significant online marketplace visibility.

    What are your thoughts?

Would you post your Pioneer Reservations in a centralized online marketplace, and pay a 5% or 15% commission to sell through that web marketplace?

    • Yes - I'd list and pay a 5% commission if the sale was at least $2,500
    • Yes - I'd list and pay a 10% commission if the sale was at least $2,500
    • I would pay a listing fee of $200 to sell at my price, but pay no commission
    • I would pay a listing fee of $500 if the lowest price on the site was $3,500

The voucher is a NFT. It is already on a NFT marketplace like OpenSea. When you claim it, it is on the OpenSea marketplace. People who want to buy these can browse for these Vinfast NFT’s (go to OpenSea.io and browse for “VinFast VF9 or VF8 NFT” and place your bid. If the seller accepts your offer the exchange will take place and it will move to your wallet. I believe when you are ready to buy you will transfer the same to Vinfast via the OpenSea marketplace. That’s my understanding.

I can give mine voucher for free to anyone who wants to buy the car. However, I take the vacation package in Vietnam.

Heck I would take the VF8 voucher I do not care for the trip myself. I am still up in the air about getting the car right now as want to wait for more details. I do have a reservation but got it just after the VINFIRST promo was done.

VinFast just told me those of us who signed the agreement to get the $7500 rebate and converted our deposits into nonrefundable reservations can’t sell or transfer our reservations. That’s annoying.

      Are you absolutely sure?

I did sign the agreement and converted the deposit into nonrefundable but my account said “this is a refundable reservation”

I was told the same thing but I ended up selling mine by advertising on FB groups, reddit, forums. Going rate w/the current impression of VINFAST is about $1200-$2k. I rather sell now than wait. Vinfast seems like they need alot more help to fix its reputation. Expect them to be another Hyundai or Kia that had to work hard to get to where they are now. A word of advice to Vinfast is not to overpromise and underachieve.

How were you able to sell yours securely? Can you share some details if any 3rd party escrow involved?

@quincy Lin – can you provide more details on your sale? Which forum did you finally sell through, and at what final price. How did you facilitate the transfer? Did you transfer cash for a voucher at a dealership, or did you do the transfer remotely? Did VinFast corporate handle the transfer for you? We are very interested to learn more details. Thanks.

Why not but don’t think there will be enough of a market: all those vouchers are valid only for car deliveries by end of 2023. And I think vinfast will deliver way fewer cars than the number of existing pioneer NFTs by then. The tax credit isn’t transferable either.
